BaZi calculator: what goes in and what comes out
A BaZi calculator should produce the same chart from the same birth details and calculation policy. It should also show when missing time or location data limits the result.
The details needed for calculation
The birth date establishes the calendar position. Local birth time determines the hour branch and may affect the day near a boundary. Birthplace is resolved to coordinates and an IANA timezone so the entered clock time can be interpreted in the correct location.
If time is unknown, MingliPath leaves the hour pillar unknown. This is more honest than inserting a default hour that can change the apparent chart structure.
- Birth date
- Local civil birth time, when known
- Resolved birthplace and timezone
- A clearly stated day-boundary and solar-time policy
What the result should show
The core result is the set of stem-branch pillars and the Day Master. Supporting data can include element relationships, timing notes, resolved location, and the engine version used for calculation.
Element totals are only an overview. They do not by themselves establish whether a Day Master is strong or weak, because season, roots, combinations, and placement also matter.
Calculation and interpretation are different jobs
A deterministic library should calculate the chart. Interpretive language can then explain patterns in plain terms, but it must not silently repair, replace, or improvise pillars.
MingliPath combines this calculated receipt with prior palm observations only after the free palm step. The longer paid report adds depth and personalization; it does not change the chart you generated.
Common questions
Useful answers before you continue
Why does birthplace matter in a BaZi calculator?
Birthplace supplies the timezone and longitude needed to interpret local civil time and, when enabled, estimate true solar time.
Will two calculators always agree?
Not necessarily. Day-boundary rules, solar-term handling, true solar time, and timezone assumptions can differ, so the calculation policy should be visible.
Is the calculator a prediction?
No. It constructs a traditional chart. Any interpretation is reflective and should not be treated as scientific prediction or professional advice.
Your next step
Generate a chart inside your MingliPath profile
The current flow begins with a free palm reading, then asks for birth details and calculates your BaZi chart before the optional full report.
